John McCain must think we’re all idiots. If you haven’t seen the commercial he “approved” comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, you can check it out on the Swirl page.
First of all, how petty is it to call your opponent stupid (especially when he graduated at the top of his class at Harvard). And secondly, why is a war hero insulting dumb blondes everywhere? Seriously, if you’re a blonde, you should be pissed. Because John McCain thinks you’re stupid.
And the slogan McCain’s been using is pretty F’d up, too. John McCain - Country First. Implying that Obama doesn’t put his country first. Why? because he’s black? Because his name might sound funny to some people? Come on, man.
I admit my politics are already opposed to Mr. McCain, but if my candidate was being this childish, I think I’d be really disappointed. I would like to be able to respect both candidates even if I agree more with one, but these types of ads are making that very difficult.

Thought you might could use alittle more info on Obama and how he really feels in his own words….
Below
are a few lines from Obama’s books; In his
words!
>From
Dreams of My Father:
‘I ceased
to advertise
my
mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I
began to
suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating
myself to
whites.’
From
Dreams of My Father :
‘I found a
solace in
nurs ing a
pervasive sense of grievance and animosity
against my
mother’s race.’
From
Dreams of My Father:
‘There was
something
about him
that made me wary, a little too sure of
himself,
maybe. And white.’
From
Dreams of My Father:
‘It
remained necessary to prove which side you
were on,
to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and
name
names.’
From
Dreams of My Father:
‘I never
emulate white
men and
brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into
my
father’s
image, the black man, son of Africa , that I’d packed all
the
attributes
I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and
Mandela.’
And
FINALLY the Most Damming one of ALL of them!!!
>From
Audacity of Hope:
‘I will
stand with the Muslims should the po litical
winds
shift in an ugly direction.’

First of all, I’m familiar with that e-mail that you were forwarded from a right wing smear source, and if you’re interested in the truth rather than out of context or made up quotes, here’s a neutral source that fully researched that email -
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/ownwords.asp
Secondly, I’m disappointed that you would try to spread ideas without fully researching them yourself. This is a well known email forward which you believed and spread at face value without independently confirming the veracity of the reports. That is irresponsible.
Thirdly, do you know what it was like to grow up a kid of mixed racial heritage in the 60’s and 70’s? I’m guessing you don’t. I don’t either. So I wouldn’t dare judge his feelings as a kid growing up in that world. In the context of that backdrop Barack Obama went through completely normal struggles with identity that a kid would face. Why would we fear him for growing pains he had as a kid? Oh that’s right, we’re white, we’re supposed to fear black people (but these days we can only talk about it in code).
As for that last quote, if you bothered to read the full context, he was talking about Muslims unfairly discriminated against because of what terrorists have done. Are you familiar at all with Islam or the Koran? Do you realize that the vast majority of Muslims (like 99.999%) are not terrorists? Terrorists are a small number of Muslims who interpret the Koran in their own selfish way to justify murder and should not be lumped in with the rest of the religion’s followers. Any decent human being would stand with victims of unfair persecution (of whatever religion) in the face of bigotry.
