Just to get that out of the way yearly…this is all just “alleged” for the record. The news today makes me sick. And by the way - there should be more news about it. These men have both been arrested in the last 24 hours and charged with having sex with their 16 year old students! Outrageous. Disgusting. And the Newman teacher, Michael Lyons, bought the student he was molesting a cell phone. WTF? I can only imagine her parents didn’t find it. Because FYI, if your child has a cell phone given to her by a teacher…call the cops! I feel so bad for these girls. If you know them - please don’t start rumors or be mean to them in anyway. They are not at fault. These men are criminals who took advantage of them. Heck, I had a crush on the coach at my high school…but if he’d have done something…even if I thought it was really cool - he should have gone to jail. Then and now. Bad men. Allegedly.

I was at MCA when Lyons began to teach there, and when he started he had been fired from another girls’ high school for allegedly doing something with a student at that school (I think it was Blenk). I kind of find it hard to believe MCA didn’t know about that. I remember talking about it with classmates when he started at MCA, so it’s been known for a while.
