My friend and I are “those” kinda girls. We do Oscar parties. And Golden Globe parties which are usually more fun, but since the strike robbed us of that this year - the Oscar party is gonna need to cover us for the entire season. We like to do a theme. We’ll name the food we’re serving after the theme…sometimes dress up. Drink lots of champagne and just trash-talk the celebs. Good times. Well my stoopid friend Wendee decided since we couldn’t come up with a theme this year (I mean really…”No Country for Old Men” or “There Will Be Blood”? What would we do?) that we should have to dress up Oscar-style. Yup. Break out the old bride’s maid dresses and stuff. I seem to be the only one who thinks that sitting cross-legged at my coffee table eating hummus won’t be so comfy in a mardi gras gown…but everyone else seems to be up for it.
