Dr. John Dorsey - Should We Circumcise?

Dr. John Dorsey has an active pediatric practice in the Detroit, MI area and has been teaching since 1957. For five decades, he’s watched parenting styles, feeding patterns, school issues, and health management change with each decade.
I was horrified and apalled at this Drs views on circumcision. When we become parents our job is to protect our babies, not mutilate them. If parents with an infant female, went to their doctors and requested that she be circumcised, it would be outrageous and abusive. Why is it ok to mutilate infant males? We are not born with extra parts, the foreskin serves a purpose.
How could a medical professional who makes income off of this procedure, present an unbiased view?
All parents I urge you to to some research before making an informed decision. watch a video of this procedure. The babies that stop crying, do so because they went into shock, not because they cant feel pain. They just cant tells us with words that it hurts. The pain is not transient or mimimal as the dr. stated. Bonding and breastfeeding can be affected. Trust that an infant has that his parents will protect him is gone.
It is a violation of human rights. It is just as absurd as removing a perfectly healthy arm or leg because all the other parent had it done to their child.
It saddens me to think that this individual, as a medical professional, is so misinformed about this topic and is spreading this misinformation to people whom trust him, his patients.
I am proud to be an intactivist. Someone has to speak for those without a voice.
