Talk to Kim

BEST POEM EVER

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE …
enough
money within her control to move out
and rent a place of  her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE …
something
perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams
wants to see her in an hour…

A WOMAN SHOULD
HAVE .
a youth she’s content to leave behind….

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .
a past juicy
enough that she’s looking forward to
retelling it in her
old age….
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE …
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
one friend who
always makes her laugh.. and one who lets her cry…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE …
a good piece
of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her
family…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
eight
matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for
a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE
a feeling of
control over her destiny..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD
KNOW…
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
how to quit
a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend
without;
ruining the friendship…

EVERY WOMAN
SHOULD KNOW…
when to try harder… and WHEN TO WALK
AWAY…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
that she can’t change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
that her
childhood may not have been perfect…but it’s over…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
what she
would and wouldn’t do for love or more…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW….
how to live
alone… even if she doesn’t like it…

EVERY
WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
whom she can trust,
whom she can’t,
and why she shouldn’t take it personally…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
where to
go…
be it to her best friend’s kitchen table..
or a
charming Inn in the woods….
when her soul needs soothing…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
What she can and can’t accomplish in a day…
a month…and a year…

  1. FYI, the poem was not written by Ms Angelou, but by Pamela Redmond Satran.

  2. Love it. Printed it for my teenage daughter and left it for her to “find”.

  3. very powerful poem,. made copy for mu daughter and my co workers, keep up the great shows . I am your moms age and find you very funny, your stories catch my interest and you are a very funny girl .I like the broad spectrum of your shows and you do not hesitate to take on issues that other talk hosts may shy away from . we are glad to have you in the buffalo new york radio air.

  4. In going thru your website, I found this poem and thought it was neat. I did some further research to find out if there was more to it and found this is not a Maya Angelou poem, but written by Pamela Redmond Satran. There is more than one reference to it on the internet. Below is a website also found referencing the origin and author:
    http://www.cs.rutgers.edu/~watrous/every-woman.html

  5. My name is Glen, I am 57 years old, and look a lot younger than i am. I have just completed a stress test and have tested at a 30 year old equivalent. I prefer to date women who have an equivalent stress test rating or who are actually in their thirties. My primary sport is competitive figure skating.

Comment 1: Your show phone number. You all read it so fast I cannot write it down while driving in my car. What digits represent call kim? What I hear is 1-888-9callkim This is one to many digits.

Comment 2: You have made the comment that men and women should have orgasms on a one for one basis. I disagree. I think a woman should at least have three to my one. It is not unusual for women I am with to have three to five orgasms anytime we are making love that is not a quickie. The last two women I have been with have even experienced 8 orgasms, several times. I am very happy that I can help in a women achieve these results.

Comment 3: I know of a lot of men who agree with Mr. Nedder (spelling ?). I have only slept with two women on the first night/date. The first woman and I knew each other and planned on getting married. We were meeting in Dallas to move into one place. She died in the plane crash at DFW. She was the head stewardess of the back of the plane. The second woman and i plan on getting togetherr when she returns from her unaccompanied tour in Alaska next summer.

Which I could sit across a table and discuss these items with you or on the phone.

Thank you for consideration of the information I have provided.
