Being A Dickenson

One of my favorite shows to watch is The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. I really get a kick out of Janice and her pompous attitude toward people in general. The funny part is business people LOVE her!! I have to hand it to her though, she is very smart business woman and I admire that in her. I don’t know too much about her other than what we read in the media. I do know she claims to be the World’s First Super Model. She LOVES this title and I think it’s so cool of her to own it. Ever since her show came on, I always wanted to meet her. I’m not sure what it is about this woman that intrigues me but for some reason she tends to give me a little more strength when I’m feeling down and out. I would put a link to her website on here but I don’t wanna be sued from her. I’m sure you can Google her and find out how to find her…lol

Do you have someone in your life like that? Wonder what would THEY do if they were in your shoes right now? For me, that person is either my mom or Janice Dickinson (completely two different types of people but both very strong!). If I could spend one day with someone it would be with Janice. IS she really like they say she is? Is she really THAT plastic? Sometimes she seems like a down to earth person, really caring about her models (as she likes to call them) and other times she just comes across ruthless and heartless. I wonder what it was really like …………growing up being a Dickinson.

Until Next Time,

Much Love,

Nikki

Hi Nikki,

I’m currently working full-time *and* going to school full-time finishing up an MBA degree program. That means at least two things: I don’t have much time at all for TV and when I do, it’s usually late at night. (However, I’m glad I can get “The Wolf” online while I’m on the computer all day long!)

I guess I’ve had a number of role models in my life. Like you, I always looked up to my mother as a very strong woman. My father passed away when I was very young and my mother never remarried, deciding instead simply to concentrate on working to earn a living and raising her children. I remember sitting on her hospital bed the week before she passed away in the summer of 2005, and we were watching Wheel of Fortune on TV. Still sharp as a tack, she consistently beat me to the punch with such arcane answers as “Mt. McKinley” the moment the K and two M’s were revealed.

So anyway, I’ll address this as a *current* favorite show / personality / role model question. I like Dave Letterman. He’s arguably the most intelligent of the late night hosts (at least post-Carson, still the undisputed King), he has a wry sense of humor and a quick, sometimes sardonic wit, and he has enough humanizing personal foibles to keep it real. I don’t know about lunch, but one of these days I wouldn’t mind flying to the Big Apple for a cold beer and to take in the show…

Regarding Janice Dickinson, I think you may be treading on thin ice here: Meeting in person has the potential to shatter every perception you’ve ever held. You might find that she’s more down to earth than you ever expected, or perhaps more ruthless and heartless than you ever thought possible. Either way – and depending on your position – you might be pleasantly surprised or perhaps mildly disappointed. You would have to decide in advance if the potential benefit outweighed the potential risk.

I believe that when you are able to view something or someone in a new light, you’re bound to be surprised. Maybe good, maybe “not so much.” What do you think?

ML4U2,

Terry
