Oak Ridge’s Austin Collie running with The Colts

Week 5 in the N F L: several comebacks, plus memorable no-shows by the 49ers and Raiders, plus a quiet breakout game too…Rookie Austin Collie, a Wide Receivers for the Colts, had the best game of his young career. Catching 8 Peyton Manning passes for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns. Collie has impressively stepped up in the absence of Anthony Gonzalez…that’s nothing new to those familiar with Oak Ridge Football.

While at Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills, he won numerous awards, including Northern California’s Most Valuable Player. Collie went on to impress playing collegiately at B Y U. When you think about the possibilities in Indianapolis, teaming up with Payton Manning, there’s real potential for Collie to continue this kind of growth. The talent is there; seems like every play he’s involved in, it’s a gutsy catch, great effort.

Under the radar receiver, gaining chemistry with a great quarterback: worked for Wes Welker in New England…and it appears to be going that way for Oak Ridge Alum, Austin Collie with The Colts.
