Contest Winner Information
Over 140 small businesses entered the U.S. Bank Small Business Contest!!
Winning Charity: The Women’s Crisis & Family Outreach Center
And the winner is…
South Denver Arts Center
Owner: Nancy Daniel
12509 E. Lincoln Ave. #303
Englewood, CO 80112
And her story…
For over 7 years, we have offered drawing & clay classes to children, teens & adults. When taught in an environment that is non-judgmental and creative exploration is safe, art puts everyone on a level playing field regardless of age or background or social status. Once a person builds their artistic skills, they have those skills for life and can explore and develop them in many directions.
We have grown primarily by word of mouth. The nature of our business is low-margin services, so resources for advertising have been limited. Advertising of the type being offered in this contest would help more people in the Denver community discover what we have to offer. In turn, not only would our small business that employs more than 8 people benefit, but people who truly need to rediscover their artistic side would benefit from renewed creativity and self-expression.
We have chosen The Womens Crisis and Family Outreach Center as our charity of choice. Domestic violence touches too many lives in every community. This organization provides tangible, effective responsive and preventative services.
THANK YOU FOR A VERY SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN!!!!
