I was on Good Day Sacramento this morning (yes, it was cold outside!) talking about the Jingle Ball, and giving away Backstage Passes, which you may still be able to win! Watch to find out how!

First new pictures of Jaycee Duggard
October 14th, 2009 — Uncategorized
I was wondering how long it would take until we would see the first new pictures of Jaycee Duggard, the victim of the horrifying kidnapping ordeal which was all over the news in the past couple of months. Well, today they were released. Jaycee was photographed by People magazine, and is featured on the cover of their latest issue. Up until this point, the only images we had of her was as an 11-year old, prior to her kidnapping. As you can see, she’s now 29, and you can follow the link if you want to read more of People’s article about her today.
Check out Mariah with a Mustache!!
October 12th, 2009 — Uncategorized

Believe it or not, these are both the same person! That’s right, Mariah Carey plays a social worker in an upcoming indy film called Precious which is due out next month! The director purposely wanted her to look “homely” so people wouldn’t immediately recognize her as Mariah. I’d say they did a good job! Somebody get that girl a razor!
Gaga and her Hula Hoops do SNL!
October 5th, 2009 — Uncategorized
Lady Gaga took over Saturday Night Live this past weekend, you can watch her performance of “Love Game” and “Poker Face” here. Pay extra close attention to the hula hoop smacking her in the head about a minute into the performance! When she sits down at the piano and takes her sunglasses off, I think she actually looks great! About as normal as she’s ever looked, although I’m sure she’d hate me for referring to her as “normal”!
The Crest gets a facelift!
September 21st, 2009 — Uncategorized
The marquee outside the historic Crest Theatre on K Street will shine once again tonight after four months of reconstruction and restoration. The bright red, aquamarine and yellow colors of the marquee, which had been fading for 18 years due to weather, will be relit in a special ceremony tonight. The Crest, one of the few remaining theaters from Sacramento’s past, celebrates its 60th anniversary in early October this year. But the theater space is actually even older than that. Prior to 1949, The Crest Theater was known as The Hippodrome, but it shut down in 1946 after the marquee plummeted to the ground, killing a woman. The theatre was understandibly closed for a time after the accident, at the same time being remodeled and transformed into the Crest as we know it today, opening in 1949.
The Crest has existed for almost an entire century and brings in around over 200,000 patrons per year to the many concerts, movies, independent films and public speaking events held there. The restoration of the theatre’s façade is occurring in addition to the many other renovations that are happening along the same stretch of K Street. Among the many movie theatres in and about the Sacramento area, the Crest and the Tower theatres are the only ones that continue to stand in their original form.
In celebration of the theatre’s 60th anniversary and the relighting ceremony, tonight the Crest will be showing the last remaining copy of the film “Midnight Kiss” starring Kathryn Grayson and Ethel Barrymore. The theatre will also be showing newsreel footage from the theatre’s original opening. Tickets for the movie will cost 60 cents just as they were in the 40’s.
Everybody hates Kanye!
September 14th, 2009 — Uncategorized
After Kanye West’s completely inappropriate and downright rude outburst last night, suggesting that Beyonce, and not Taylor, should have won, a slew of other celebrities tweeted (among other things) about their digust with Kanye!
Katy Perry: F**k u Kanye. It’s like u stepped on a kitten.
Pink: Kanye west is the biggest piece of s**t on earth. Quote me. Beyonce is a classy lady. I feel for her, too. It’s not her fault at all, and her and Taylor did their thing. And douche bag got kicked out. HA.
Joel Madden: WOW Taylor Swift’s first VMA and she didn’t even get to ENJOY it. Kanye You were just a bully on that one man.
Adam Lambert: Kanye needs to chill. He freaks out every year. It ain’t that deep man.
John Mayer: Big love to my girl @taylorswift13. A class act.
Kellie Pickler: Tator Tot, you handled yourself with Grace. Kanye, go grow some f-ing b*lls bitch! don’t mess w/ my lil sis!!
Spencer Pratt: Let’s be very clear King Spencer would never do anything like what Kayne just did to a sweet soul like Taylor!
Heidi Montag: congrats @taylorswift13 on your vma!!! you deserve it more than anyone!! I saw the devil in action when kanye west stole your mic! u rock!!!
Kelly Clarkson also directed some thoughts toward Kanye on her blog saying “I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s**t… Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??”
Pitbull even went on record for a TMZ video calling Kanye “a f**king direspectful motherf**cker”.
Way to go Kanye, your incivility really impressed a lot of people last night. But then again, he probably just did it to get people talking about him. Tickets for his nationwide tour do go on sale this weekend, including November 18th here in Sacramento. Coincidence? Of course not.

Follow John Quincy Adams on Twitter!!
August 10th, 2009 — Uncategorized
That’s right, former President John Quincy Adams, who has been dead for nearly 200 years, has a twitter page! Now I’m personally not a big fan of the tweet, but I think this is pretty cool. Evidently a high school student attending a museum in the Adams’ (John Quincy’s dad, John, was also President) home state of Massachusetts noticed that John Quincy’s diary entries were all quick and concise, much like today’s tweeting! So the Massachusetts Historical Society got the brilliant idea to create a twitter page for our 6th president, and to update it with his daily diary posts from 1809 as he embarked on a diplomatic mission to Russia. What to do this weekend!
August 7th, 2009 — Uncategorized
Here are some ideas for fun things for you to do to get out of the house on another beautiful Northern California weekend! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous, with highs in the lower 90s Saturday and Sunday.
A couple of summertime traditions continue downtown, with another Concert In The Park starting at 5:00 tonight at Cesar Chavez Plaza. The Music Circus presents Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, with showings all three nights this weekend, plus a Saturday matinee.
This Saturday evening is another Second Saturday, where the masses descend upon midtown for the monthly art-walk. Let’s be honest though, how many of us actually check out a gallery on Second Saturday? It’s more of an excuse to have dinner and a fun evening out around lots and lots of people. Although I’m sure the art is very nice, too!
The Rivercats are in town all weekend if you’d like to catch a ball game. Tonight and Saturday starts at 7:00, with Sunday’s game beginning at 6:00. There will be fireworks after the game on Saturday!
If you want to hit the road, it’s a perfect weekend for a roadtrip to Reno for Hot August Nights. The annual classic-car show wraps up this weekend with lots of events and activities. I mean, how often do you actually get to cruise legally anymore? It’s a throwback to simpler times gone by this weekend in Reno. If you want to pull off the freeway on your way up to Reno, Placer County is having the Heritage Trail Museum Event, where admission to all museums from Roseville to Auburn to Colfax all the way to Tahoe City is free all weekend. Click here for more information.
New movies in theaters this weekend include GI Joe, Julie & Julia, and A Perfect Getaway.
Of course, leave your radio on 107-9 The End for all of your favorite songs wherever you’re off to this weekend!
