Family Fun Walk

This past weekend I walked in a family fun walk around Heritage Park. To participate, people had to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank. Everybody who walked received a free pedometer (a thing that counts the # of steps you take). This walk served as a kick off to the Freedom Weekend Aloft weekend and a kick off to my personal wellness program. By the way-white is not my best color!

Getting active

Summer kicks off this weekend!  Time to start enjoying the great weather and getting involved in activities that would encourage movement and the release of endorphins!  I’ve already headed up the softball team at the station….and we’re still waiting for our 1st win after 5 games…ouch.

So…here we go!

You might have heard me talk about getting healthy during my show on B93.7? If not….ummm I’m trying to get healthy. (Are we all caught up now?). I’m putting together a list of goals that I’d like to accomplish before the end of the year. In the next few weeks, I will share those goals with you in hopes that you might 1) Think I’m cool 2) Join me in my quest to get healthy in 2008.

I’m a dad now. My daughter is almost 17 months old. When you become a parent, you start thinking about mortality and being around to see your kids grow up. It’s not like I’m old or anything, I just want to set a good example for Erin (my daughter). Anyone who has become a parent (especially guys) can relate to what I’m thinking. Women are usually more health conscious than guys are. You go to the doctor more often, etc… Guys only think about the hospital as a last resort. (oh…my arm almost fell off….almost…I can walk this off).

Check back in from time to time and feel free to leave me comments.
