SKINNY JEANS…literally;)

I love the show “What Not To Wear,” I watch it almost everyday.  Well Stacey and Clinton are constantly talking about denim trousers.  They’re flattering, blah blah…well my boy decided to go shopping yesterday (SHOCKING he hates to shop) and I tagged along (duh!).  He needed jeans, so I suggested Lucky.  Crazy that I’ve never been there, probably because I don’t want to buy expensive jeans until I reach my goal weight.  I’ve gained 5 pounds since Josh and I started dating.  Even though it’s not super obvious…I feel gross.  Not bad for 10 months though, I could’ve gained way more…(Comcast workouts THANK YOU!).  Anyway’s (sorry got sidetracked), while he tried on jeans, I checked out some denim trousers and loved them!  I couldn’t afford them unfortunately, Lulu has crazy allergies…meaning super expensive vet bills.  Someday the trousers and I will UNITE and form a hot little outfit…until then…sigh.  Click the pic for more.

Jolly Green Giant!

So I bought the Garden Vegetable Medley bag last night and it was delicious.  Huge serving and only 70 calories AND I have tons left over!!!  I was getting tired of buying all of these veggies and never getting to finish all of them because they would go bad so fast, so I hit up the frozen food section and went crazy.  My freezer is now packed haha!  Go pick some of these frozen veggie bags up…you won’t be sorry!  So good!

Pumpkin spice and everything nice!

So I went to Ulta yesterday and got the best smelling hair cream ever (pumpkin whipped souffle)!  My boyfriend told me I smell like a pumpkin candle (which is a good thing).  Fall is all about pumpkin spice and apple crisp mmmm, plus it makes your hair look great!  I’m gonna pick up the shampoo and conditioner next!  Try it out, you will LOVE it!  P.S. they also have a great line for curly hair too;)  Click the pic for more.

Waffles!!!

I love breakfast!  Love pancakes, waffles, all the crap that’s bad for you right?  Well it doesn’t have to be bad you know!  Hungry Girl posted an entire thing on waffles  and there are so many great options!  The stats are 140 calories, 2.5 grams of fat and 2 WW POINTS!  Click the pic for more.  Oh and as far as maple syrup goes…pick up some sugar free and you are set!!!

Oatmeal find!

OMJonas!  This is so yummy!  Starbucks has a new item on their breakfast menu, PERFECT OATMEAL!  Considering other fast food options, this is the way to go.  I get the brown sugar topping and it comes to a total of 190 calories.  It’s totally filling and also contains 4 grams of fiber!  Their are two other toppings, dried fruit and nut medley (brown sugar is the best though).  Click the pic for more!

YUM YUM AND MORE YUM!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG OMG!  I saw the commercial last night and almost fell off the couch!  These look SOOOO…flippin’ delicious!  I cannot wait to get me some for reaaaals:)  Oh and f.y.i. only 150 calories for a big portion!  The Molten Chocolate Cake is calling my name.  Click the pic for more:)

Early bird loses the pounds!

So I was browsing this morning looking for new tricks to incorporate into my weight loss regime, when I came across this random site.  The tip below really caught my attention.  Now if only I could get my happy ass out of bed haha!

DO YOUR CARDIO FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ON AN EMPTY STOMACH

Fasted early morning cardio is still controversial in academic circles, and some people are concerned that it might be too catabolic and you may break down muscle along with the fat. However, my experience and research has shown that while there are risks, fasted early morning does work and the potential benefits outweight those risks when maximum fat loss is your goal.

But don’t take my word for it - examine the facts, test it while carefully monitoring body composition and lean body mass, and decide for yourself.

The argument in favor of fasted early morning cardio goes something like this:

1. After an overnight 8-12 hour fast, your body’s stores of glycogen are depleted and you burn more fat when glycogen is low.

2. Eating causes a release of insulin. Insulin interferes with the mobilization of body fat. Less insulin is present in the morning; so more body fat is burned when cardio is done in the morning.

3. There is less carbohydrate (glucose) in the bloodstream when you wake up after an overnight fast. With less glucose available, you burn more fat.

4. If you eat immediately before a workout, you have to burn off what you just ate first before tapping into stored body fat (and insulin is elevated after a meal.)

5. When you do cardio in the morning, your metabolism stays elevated for a period of time after the workout is over. If you do cardio in the evening, you burn calories during the session, but you fail to take advantage of the “afterburn” effect because your metabolic rate drops dramatically as soon as you go to sleep.

You can get more details about cardio training for fat loss, including the surprising truth about the “fat-burning zone” in chapter 16 of my ebook, Burn The Fat, Feed the Muscle. Visit www.burnthefat.com for information.

Brush em!

Yup to cut back on snacking a great trick to use is brushing them teeth gurrrrl!  I’ll get super minty toothpaste and give my teeth a good shine when I’m feeling the need to stuff my face haha.  You know that awful taste you get in your month when you try to eat something right after you brush you teeth?  Well that nasty taste alone is reason enough to put the cookie down!  Try it out!  It works!

shop the sidelines!

You may have heard this before, BUT my girl, Kelly from the WUC, reminded me of an awesome tip!  Shop the perimeter of the grocery store.  Super easy and if you think about it, that’s where all the healthy food is!  Middle aisles equal cookies, chips and soda OH MY!  BAD BAD BAD!  Stay away!!!  Thanks Kel:)

This snacks is NUTS!

Har har I know LAME joke.  Anyway, HG (Hungry Girl talked about these today and I wanted to share).  I love almonds for a healthy snack.. they fill you up, but counting them out is kind of annoying.  So how awesome is it that we now have pre-packaged portions?!?!  OMG yay!!!  Still if almonds aren’t your thing…most nuts are good for you just make sure you get unsalted/RAW.  HG gave a good tip too.  Buy nuts that are still in their shells, that way it takes longer to eat them and you get full faster;)  Ok that’s it!  Click the pic for more on the Blue Diamond Almonds.
